Below are some common questions about our product
How well does Gearrista clean?
Gearrista removes surface particles from the chain and cassette through controlled, dry brushing. The system is designed to remove particles before they become abrasive, while preserving the existing lubricant film. Gearrista does not aim to strip the drivetrain completely clean. Instead, it reduces particle buildup continuously through frequent use, making deep cleaning necessary less often.
Do I need water or cleaning fluids?
No. Gearrista operates without water, decreaser, or detergents. The system is designed for dry, indoor use - clean, predictable, and apartment-friendly.
Does it require electricity?
Gearrista operates via standard 230V EU household power connection.
Can Gearrista be used on gravel bikes?
Yes. Gearrista is designed for both road and gravel drivetrains. Frequent use is particularly beneficial in dusty or mixed surface conditions.
Can I leave the machine outside?
Gearrista is classified IP44 and can withstand occasional splashes of water. However, the system is designed for indoor use and should not be stored outdoors or exposed to prolonged moisture.
How long does a brush last?
Brush lifespan depends on usage frequency and riding conditions. Under normal use, a brush typically lasts between eight (8) and twelve (12) months before replacement is recommended.
What size brush do I need?
Brush size is determined by cassette geometry. For cassettes up to and including 10–34, use the small brush. For cassettes larger than 10–34, use the large brush.
Is this a cleaning machine?
No. Gearrista is a preventive drivetrain maintenance system designed for frequent use. It reduces contamination continuously rather than replacing periodic deep cleaning.
What are the dimensions and weight?
Weight: 6.5 kg
Dimensions: 65 × 62 x 32 cm (H × W × D)

Below are some common questions about the system and how it works
How often should I use it?
After every ride. Gearrista is built on frequency and repetition. Small amounts of particles are removed before they become embedded in the lubricant and form abrasive paste. The process takes 10 minutes and is designed to be part of a repeatable routine. Consistency is what prevents wear - not intensity.
Which drivetrains is it compatible with?
Compatible with road and gravel drivetrains from Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo. Compatibility depends on cassette geometry and correct brush size selection.
Is Gearrista compatible with electronic shifting systems?
Yes. Gearrista is fully compatible with electronic drivetrains, including Di2, eTap and EPS systems. The system operates externally and does not interfere with electronic components.
Does Gearrista remove hardened mud?
Gearrista is designed for dry, preventive maintenance. Excessive mud should be removed manually before use. The system is not intended for heavy, wet dirt.
Can it damage my chain or cassette?
No. Gearrista operates through controlled, dry brushing designed around drivetrain geometry and tolerances. The brushes follow the chain and cassette profile with calibrated contact pressure and low rotational speed. The purpose is to remove surface - not material. There is no grinding force, no stripping and no mechanical abrasion of metal surfaces when used as intended.
Does it remove lubricant?
No. Gearrista removes surface particles while preserving the lubricant film. The system is designed to prevent particles from settling into the lubricant - not to strip the drivetrain clean. Periodic re-lubrication and deep cleaning are still required when needed, but significantly less often with consistent use.
Is it safe for carbon frames and high-end drivetrains?
Yes. Gearrista is designed for modern high-end road and gravel bicycles. The system interacts only with the chain and cassette and does not apply force to the frame, derailleur, or bearings. No water, no decreaser and no aggressive cleaning agents are involved. This makes it suitable for use with carbon frames and premium drivetrain components.
How do I change the brush?
Press the release button on the brush stem and remove the brush. Click the new brush into place — no tools required.
How do I clean the machine?
The bottom tray can be removed and cleaned using a cloth. For long-term maintenance, we recommend wiping the interior surfaces with a cloth every six (6) months - or as needed depending on use.
Can it be used in commercial workshops?
Gearrista is designed for private consumer use. Commercial use voids warranty unless otherwise agreed in writing. For commercial or workshop applications, please contact us directly.
